Who is SMRC, Inc?

The Sarasota Model Railroad Club is a model railroad club located in Manatee County, FL.  We are a member of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA), a national club for model railroaders, and the Sunshine Region (SSR) of the NMRA.

What Information Does SMRC Collect?

We collect no information about you when you visit our web site.  If you choose to purchase products from SMRC that may be periodically offered, instructions on how to order by phone or mail will be provided.  We also do not collect information.

When you come to one of our public events, you will be offered an opportunity to provide us your mailing information to make you aware of future events and activities.

We do not collect information from other parties.

SMRC uses the information collected as follows:

• to make you aware of future events that SMRC sponsors or co-sponsors.
• to make you aware of future events that SMRC participates in, such as county fairs or similar public events.

• SMRC Does not share information with any other party with the exception of Legal Disclosures.  In the highly unlikely event SMRC is required to disclose customer information pursuant to lawful requests, such as subpoenas or court orders, or in compliance with applicable laws, SMRC will make such disclosure.

You can update or correct your name, address, or e-mail address at any time by writing to us via US Mail.  This information is not maintained or available on our website.  See the table below to update your information.

How To Opt Out Of Receiving Further Communications From SMRC?

To be removed from any one of the SMRC Family mailing lists, please contact us by US mail, at the relevant address listed on the above table.

We will make every effort to implement any choice you make as soon as possible, but you should allow approximately three months for mailing change requests to be fully implemented.

Does SMRC Send Unsolicited Promotional E-mails?

No. We do not send any unsolicited emails 

How Does SMRC Safeguard the Information Collected?

SMRC protects against unauthorized disclosures by limiting access only to those of our members who need the information.  SMRC members are trained about their responsibility to protect our customers' privacy. We limit the information we provide to outside companies to only the information we believe is appropriate to enable them to carry out their responsibilities under our contracts.  These companies are limited to mailing companies that handle our mailings. 

Does SMRC Use Cookies?

The improper use of cookies and other such technologies has generated much anxiety for consumers. SMRC, however, must use cookies for proper operation of this web site.  The cookie you receive is a unique number, different and reassigned each time you visit the web site.  It is only used to identify you during the time you visit the web site.  It is normally deleted when you leave the web site.

Does SMRC Aggregate Information?

No. SMRC does not aggregate any information about you.
